Ezequiel Sal hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Peter-Jan Rijniers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roman Orlo in the 21st minute of play. A collision led to Genk getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Dries Vrins hit a great ball. Peter-Jan Rijniers stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Roman Orlo's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. In the 31st minute, Hipolito Polentzi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Los Laguneros de AT's Roman Orlo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Peter-Jan Rijniers. That made the score 1-0 after 37 minutes of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Roman Orlo in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Peter-Jan Rijniers saved Genk from getting behind. When Christian Moors fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Genk's protests and gave Christian Moors a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Los Laguneros de AT booed when Genk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Moors didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Desiderio Frederik in the 46th minute really tested Peter-Jan Rijniers's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Roman Orlo was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Genk's Seppe Van Hoovelt dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Roman Orlo charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roman Orlo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 63rd match minute, Los Laguneros de AT was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roman Orlo to maneuver through the defense. Manuel Michael was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Dries Vrins. In the 65th minute, Gabriel Jerano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Manuel Michael took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maarten Belmans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maarten Belmans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Christian Moors kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Los Laguneros de AT's Roman Orlo got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Genk's zone, Roman Orlo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Peter-Jan Rijniers came out of the goal and Roman Orlo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 86th minute Roman Orlo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter-Jan Rijniers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 88 minutes into the game, Roel De Mees was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Genk's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Los Laguneros de AT the free kick. After a rather tough play, Genk's Roel De Mees got a free kick in the 88th minute. In the 95th minute, Dries Vrins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
