Herbert Hamberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Veríssimo Sequeira having to interfere. Cash Is King's Marcus Pilblad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolfo Pires in the 14th minute of play. In the 20th minute Rui Aguas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcus Pilblad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brian Öberg in the 22nd minute of play forced Gremio Viana's goalkeeper Veríssimo Sequeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hermenegildo Palha's late challenge caught a Cash Is King's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hermenegildo Palha helped the player get up and apologised. After some careless play in the Cash Is King defense, Viriato Vargas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcus Pilblad. The Cash Is King fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcus Pilblad should have stopped the shot. In the 30th match minute, Gremio Viana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Porfírio Cortez to maneuver through the defense. Marcus Pilblad showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rui Aguas in the 34th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Cash Is King defense, Porfírio Cortez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcus Pilblad. The Cash Is King fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcus Pilblad should have stopped the shot. Veríssimo Sequeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Östensson in the 43rd minute of the match. Gremio Viana's Veríssimo Sequeira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Gremio Viana from getting a goal against them. Veríssimo Sequeira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Axel Östensson went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Veríssimo Sequeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Östensson in the 54th minute of play. When Herbert Hamberg came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Cash Is King fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Herbert Hamberg couldn't finish the play. Porfírio Cortez might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcus Pilblad. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Porfírio Cortez ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 61 minutes, Porfírio Cortez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gremio Viana's supporters crossed their fingers, but Porfírio Cortez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Herbert Hamberg in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Veríssimo Sequeira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Allan Björkkvist hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Gremio Viana's Veríssimo Sequeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonas Dahlberg in the 67th minute of play. Jonas Dahlberg kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Gremio Viana's Hermenegildo Palha got a free kick in the 96th minute. Gremio Viana's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
