If Alexis Dellios had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Oakham defense, Notis Trontzos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rifqi Choo. The Oakham fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rifqi Choo should have stopped the shot. In the 36th minute Dimitris Koudas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rifqi Choo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 40 played minutes Oakham got a freekick which was hit by Clive Tan. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Eustratios Vertsotis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clive Chien-Kwan, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 54th minute, Jerry Chong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Oakham's Rifqi Choo got control of the ball when Dimitris Koudas tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Olympiacos FC's zone, Mark Devan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eustratios Vertsotis came out of the goal and Mark Devan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 78 played minutes Olympiacos FC got a freekick which was hit by Pavlos Fanidis. In the 79th minute of the match John Dyce shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eustratios Vertsotis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 82 minutes, Rifqi Choo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 84 minutes into the game, Olympiacos FC's Alexis Dellios nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rifqi Choo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. In the 87th minute, Dimitris Koudas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rifqi Choo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. Olympiacos FC's Notis Trontzos got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Panos Loukas lost his temper 94 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 96 minutes into the match, Olympiacos FC's goal looked a bit too open when John Dyce came free, but Eustratios Vertsotis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Olympiacos FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
