The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alix Geoffray showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robinho Pitta in the 3rd minute of the match. Nestor Galvão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alix Geoffray having to interfere. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Germano Arósio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Clube Atl. Taquaritinga from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ramzi Roulleau got free with Germano Arósio in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Flavian Garcon might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Germano Arósio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Flavian Garcon ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Clube Atl. Taquaritinga getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Fiori Guimarães hit a great ball. When Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Nestor Galvão in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rathmore Lime Tree's goalie prevented a goal. In the 25th play minute Ramzi Roulleau came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Germano Arósio. 1-0. After 29 played minutes Rathmore Lime Tree got a freekick which was hit by Flavian Garcon. 32 minutes into the game, Flavian Garcon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rathmore Lime Tree's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clube Atl. Taquaritinga the free kick. After a rather tough play, Rathmore Lime Tree's Flavian Garcon got a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the 36th minute, Rathmore Lime Tree's Ramzi Roulleau ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Germano Arósio. Germano Arósio yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. In the 39th minute of the game Humberto Andrade made a throw-in which Juan da Fonseca played forward. After some careless play in the Rathmore Lime Tree defense, Júlio de Lima kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alix Geoffray. The Rathmore Lime Tree fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alix Geoffray should have stopped the shot. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 51st minute, Pierre-Olivier Auber got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fiori Guimarães during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 52nd match minute, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fiori Guimarães to maneuver through the defense. Germano Arósio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flavian Garcon in the 54th minute of play. Germano Arósio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Flavian Garcon's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Flavian Garcon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Nestor Galvão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th match minute, Rathmore Lime Tree was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benoît Lamarre to maneuver through the defense. Germano Arósio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramzi Roulleau, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Germano Arósio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavian Garcon in the 74th minute of the match. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Germano Arósio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flavian Garcon in the 76th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Rathmore Lime Tree's Honoré Villot got a free kick in the 77th minute. A sloppy throw-in by Aloísio Medeiros in the 89th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Rathmore Lime Tree's Johan Dufrenne. Alix Geoffray came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Robinho Pitta. But to his dismay, Robinho Pitta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Germano Arósio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavian Garcon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rathmore Lime Tree were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Clube Atl. Taquaritinga for a fine match.
