The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The crowd rose to their feet as Cecilio Izel kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Prospero Sarrate. That made the score 1-0 in the 7 minute of play. After 10 minutes, Walter Pandiani mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fesport FC and the Yaji FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Yaji FC booed when Fesport FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walter Pandiani didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th minute, Freddy Palacios left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fesport FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. When Rogelio Jenaro came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Yaji FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rogelio Jenaro couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Yaji FC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Eduardo Ferrer hit a great ball. Freddy Palacios charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Freddy Palacios the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 26th minute, Freddy Palacios hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 28 played minutes Yaji FC got a freekick which was hit by Jimeno Montrel. In the 30th minute Freddy Palacios shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeo Aguirre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Jimeno Montrel kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Prospero Sarrate. That made the score 2-1 in the 32 minute of play. When the match clock showed 39 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Jimeno Montrel sped through Fesport FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Prospero Sarrate. Salvador Oxarra kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mergildo Landa was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Fesport FC getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Anter Baeza hit a great ball. Prospero Sarrate showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jimeno Montrel, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 59th minute, Jimeno Montrel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Yaji FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. In the 64th minute Jimeno Montrel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Prospero Sarrate saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonas Lalla blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Prospero Sarrate having to make a save. Prospero Sarrate showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cecilio Izel, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Fesport FC's zone, Cecilio Izel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Prospero Sarrate came out of the goal and Cecilio Izel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Yaji FC's Amadeo Aguirre got control of the ball when Freddy Palacios tried to sneak it across the goal line. Prospero Sarrate showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduardo Ferrer in the 89th minute of the match. In the 95th minute Cecilio Izel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Prospero Sarrate saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Fesport FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Yaji FC.
