Spectators: 7802 (Terracing: 5853, Seating: 1794, VIP seats: 155) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Gil Maciel kicked off to start the match. After 14 played minutes Fluminense Football Club got a freekick which was hit by César Ceresso. 20 minutes into the match, Fluminense Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Alípio Gaspar came free, but Arnaldo Toledo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Januário Cavaco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gil Maciel in the 21st minute of play. After 22 minutes Minho FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Elói de Queirós who took care of the corner kick. Arnaldo Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alípio Gaspar in the 23rd minute of play. Lisandro Leite scored 0-1 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arnaldo Toledo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 30 minutes into the match, Maurício Pimentel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arnaldo Toledo. Fluminense Football Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Maurício Pimentel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After 34 minutes of play, Minho FC's Moisés Ribeiro made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnaldo Toledo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Arnaldo Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moisés Ribeiro in the 39th minute of play. In the 44th match minute, Minho FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alípio Gaspar to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th minute of the match Elói de Queirós shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Januário Cavaco showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Alípio Gaspar took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arnaldo Toledo. Arnaldo Toledo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. After the first half Minho FC were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alípio Gaspar to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Jerónimo Sabrosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Fluminense Football Club's Tiago Gabriel de Lara got a free kick in the 55th minute. The supporters of Fluminense Football Club booed when Minho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moisés Ribeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Januário Cavaco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Lucas, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Arnaldo Toledo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lisandro Leite in the 62nd minute. When Gil Maciel came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Fluminense Football Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gil Maciel couldn't finish the play. In the 73rd match minute, Minho FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Cortez to maneuver through the defense. Januário Cavaco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gil Maciel in the 73rd minute of the match. 75 minutes into the match, Jerónimo Sabrosa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Arnaldo Toledo, 0-5. After having played for 84 minutes, Elói de Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fluminense Football Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elói de Queirós was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Minho FC booed when Fluminense Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gil Maciel didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Bernardo Rodrigues in the 92nd minute really tested Arnaldo Toledo's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 95 minutes into the match, Minho FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gil Maciel came free, but Januário Cavaco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Minho FC played a much better game than Fluminense Football Club and deserved their victory. The Fluminense Football Club players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
