Filiberto Valverde was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. StarwarsNoAbandona9-12-18's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aquiles Iruinea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Filiberto Valverde showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ermegildo Abeitia, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 43rd match minute, LVCVS AVGVSTI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by García Gonzalvez to maneuver through the defense.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eufemio Vuelta to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to StarwarsNoAbandona9-12-18 getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Aquiles Iruinea hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Ermegildo Abeitia managed to get in a good position for a shot. StarwarsNoAbandona9-12-18's supporters rose to their feet, but Ermegildo Abeitia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Filiberto Valverde breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eufemio Vuelta in the 66th minute of play forced StarwarsNoAbandona9-12-18's goalkeeper Guaberto Piorno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. StarwarsNoAbandona9-12-18's Guaberto Piorno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abad Bellido in the 67th minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, StarwarsNoAbandona9-12-18's goal looked a bit too open when Abad Bellido came free, but Guaberto Piorno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
