Marcelo Gipuzkoa who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 13thth minute tested the skills of Murilo Peixoto when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Joaquim Marques received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Alberto Erlantz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alberto Erlantz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joaquim Marques's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rubinho Queirós during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Charmander City booed when Várzea F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rubinho Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Várzea F.C.'s Víktor Correia got a free kick in the 32nd minute. A collision led to Várzea F.C. getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Roberto Mendonça hit a great ball. After the first half Várzea F.C. were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Murilo Peixoto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ubaldo Benitez in the 63rd minute of play. After 64 minutes of play, Charmander City's Guaberto Calisto made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Murilo Peixoto was left in no man's land by his defense there! With 69 minutes on the clock, Rodrigo Qwinton commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 68th minute of the game. One of Charmander City:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Várzea F.C.:s goal. Alberto Erlantz had in the 70thth minute some difficulties stopping Jailson Koehler's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his right side, but he still managed to hold the ball 70 minutes into the match, Jailson Koehler had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alberto Erlantz. Charmander City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jailson Koehler was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Várzea F.C.'s Murilo Peixoto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Gipuzkoa in the 81st minute of play. Gregorio Dolcet hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. The supporters of Várzea F.C. booed when Charmander City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ubaldo Benitez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rubinho Queirós was shown his second yellow card after 90 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match.
