Spectators: 8021 (Terracing: 6018, Seating: 1844, VIP seats: 159) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Conny Stober started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conny Stober in the 2nd minute of play forced Los Gallos's goalkeeper Guido Luar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guido Luar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conny Stober in the 5th minute of play. In the 7th minute, Jakob Schaaf hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 8 played minutes Academica Pulheim got a freekick which was hit by Otto Kuhn. Silverio Bertran struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Dietrich Heppner didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Gallos. Conny Stober kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Tomas Vidal took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 10th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dietrich Heppner. Academica Pulheim's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Academica Pulheim getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Alwin Korte hit a great ball. Guido Luar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Conny Stober in the 14th minute of the match. Dietrich Heppner made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alejo Carlomagno in the 22nd minute. Alejo Carlomagno struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Dietrich Heppner didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Gallos. In the 26th minute Eustaquio Rodriguez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dietrich Heppner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31stth minute of the game Eustaquio Rodriguez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Academica Pulheim's Dietrich Heppner was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 31st minute, Eustaquio Rodriguez fired away a shot that was totally unreachable for Dietrich Heppner. The ball ended up just outside the left post, and Los Gallos's manager could be seen angrily pacing the sidelines. Hartmut Holtzmann hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Silverio Bertran took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dietrich Heppner. Dietrich Heppner dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

After a rather tough play, Academica Pulheim's Hasso Heberer got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Academica Pulheim's Dietrich Heppner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silverio Bertran in the 52nd minute of play. If Eustaquio Rodriguez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alwin Korte during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Los Gallos booed when Academica Pulheim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alwin Korte didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Los Gallos defense, Jari Anzengruber kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Guido Luar. The Los Gallos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guido Luar should have stopped the shot. Academica Pulheim's Noel Schaffert was substituted for Michael Paziorek. Christoph Sönksen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Academica Pulheim getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Alwin Korte hit a great ball. When Los Gallos's Eustaquio Rodriguez in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Academica Pulheim's goalie prevented a goal. After some careless play in the Los Gallos defense, Jari Anzengruber kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Guido Luar. The Los Gallos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guido Luar should have stopped the shot. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
