Spectators: 8513 (Terracing: 6385, Seating: 1958, VIP seats: 170) Miguel Botelho made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 7th minute Arthur Branco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Augusto Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 9 minutes into the match, Paulo Nunes notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Villaverde Celeste Clube's Augusto Fernandez. Augusto Fernandez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 13 minutes into the match, Bucéfalo FC's goalkeeper Rui de Mendonça had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Miguel Botelho. Rui de Mendonça showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amílton Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Augusto Fernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arthur Branco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Villaverde Celeste Clube's Augusto Fernandez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sidney Paranaense in the 18th minute of play. 18 minutes into the game, Sidney Paranaense cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Augusto Fernandez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Bucéfalo FC's Clemente Vidal got a free kick in the 20th minute. After 28 minutes Bucéfalo FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Denílson de Souza who took care of the corner kick. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Cesinha Dias advanced and headed the ball into goal, 1-2 in the 28th minute. In the 31st minute, Romário Passos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Augusto Fernandez was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. After a defensive mix-up in Villaverde Celeste Clube's zone, Clemente Vidal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Augusto Fernandez came out of the goal and Clemente Vidal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Denílson de Souza came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Villaverde Celeste Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Denílson de Souza couldn't finish the play. Augusto Fernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arthur Branco in the 44th minute of play. The Villaverde Celeste Clube players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Bucéfalo FC were winning 1-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Romário Passos to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Villaverde Celeste Clube's Guilherme Duarte got a free kick in the 55th minute. Paulo Nunes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Villaverde Celeste Clube's Augusto Fernandez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arthur Branco in the 60th minute of play. Rui de Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Botelho in the 62nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Miguel Botelho in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rui de Mendonça saved Bucéfalo FC from getting behind. Romário Passos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Augusto Fernandez made a huge save. Augusto Fernandez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clemente Vidal in the 66th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Botelho in the 74th minute of play forced Bucéfalo FC's goalkeeper Rui de Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amílton Antunes might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rui de Mendonça. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amílton Antunes ran back to his position shaking his head. Bucéfalo FC made a substitution. Tico Mole replaced Eusébio Terra. With a little luck, Villaverde Celeste Clube's Augusto Fernandez got control of the ball when Romário Passos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Edson-Arantes Pelé received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Rui de Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulo Nunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute.
