After a rather tough play, Decathlon Dudes's Willem Landzaat got a free kick in the 19th minute. After having played for 19 minutes, Jonathan de Freitas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Underdogs's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonathan de Freitas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 23 minutes, Youri Pronk mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Decathlon Dudes and the The Underdogs players grew even worse after the yellow card. Diderik Dirks showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. After a rather tough play, The Underdogs's Derk Spijkerman got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Diderik Dirks's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 45thth minute, Gerben Reiling skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A collision led to The Underdogs getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Denny Polak hit a great ball. A hard shot by Ralf Hoekstra from long distance, 47 minutes into the match, got Gerben Reiling's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diderik Dirks to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Derk Spijkerman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Jonathan de Freitas was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 84 minutes had been played. In the 86th minute, Jonathan de Freitas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marinus Mols hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Gert Heitinga's late challenge caught a Decathlon Dudes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gert Heitinga helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Decathlon Dudes booed when The Underdogs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ralf Hoekstra missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 94 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Gerben Reiling right hand side. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Decathlon Dudes fully deserved thier win.
