With a little luck, Carrapichel - FDFDF's Edson Bertassi got control of the ball when Thierry Henry tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Acácio Neto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zé Carlos Britto was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. In the 13th minute of the match, Ferenc Puskás tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Edson Bertassi saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 19 minutes into the match, Carrapichel - FDFDF's goalkeeper Edson Bertassi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Thierry Henry. Tião Maia hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Edson Bertassi made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Thierry Henry sent off a good shot on target. Zé Carlos Britto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel de Barros in the 32nd minute of play. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by Pragmáticos 1903's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rogério Alcântara was slow to take the kick. During this time Carrapichel - FDFDF's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Rogério Alcântara almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Pragmáticos 1903's Zé Carlos Britto did a great save. Ferenc Puskás could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Edson Bertassi made a huge save. In the 48th minute Pragmáticos 1903 were awarded a corner. Ferenc Puskás went to the cornerflag to take it. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Thierry Henry in the 58th minute of play forced Carrapichel - FDFDF's goalkeeper Edson Bertassi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Walmyr Severo's late challenge caught a Carrapichel - FDFDF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Walmyr Severo helped the player get up and apologised. Carrapichel - FDFDF made a substitution. Luís Moldavsky replaced Oséias de Brito. The goalkeeper, Zé Carlos Britto, was totally fooled by Carrapichel - FDFDF's Rogério Alcântara, who 67 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Abel de Barros was extremely unlucky when he, in the 69th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Walmyr Severo got his second yellow card in the match during the 72nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 72nd match minute, Pragmáticos 1903 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walmyr Severo to maneuver through the defense. 73 minutes into the match, Carrapichel - FDFDF's Rogério Alcântara broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 80th match minute, Carrapichel - FDFDF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tony Dias to maneuver through the defense. Eriberto Almeida's late challenge caught a Pragmáticos 1903's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eriberto Almeida helped the player get up and apologised. After some fancy dribbling in the 101st minute, Ferenc Puskás managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pragmáticos 1903's supporters rose to their feet, but Ferenc Puskás was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edson Bertassi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Carrapichel - FDFDF eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
