Bebeto Aguiar came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Tamboril's Waldir Cearense. But to his dismay, Waldir Cearense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Virgílio Ferrazs short, quick shot in the 7thth minute got Mauro Urbano to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 10 minutes into the game, Waldir Cearense cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Bebeto Aguiar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 13 minutes, Glauco Leão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tamboril and the Nas Horas Vagas F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Nas Horas Vagas F.C booed when Tamboril was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Glauco Leão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Morales Moreira who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 15thth minute tested the skills of Mauro Urbano when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 20 played minutes Tamboril got a freekick which was hit by Wilian de Senna. After 23 minutes Tamboril's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Antonio Di Natale who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Antonio Di Natale got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mauro Urbano quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Antônio Penha kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Nas Horas Vagas F.C's zone, Rubens Torres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bebeto Aguiar came out of the goal and Rubens Torres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 26th match minute, Nas Horas Vagas F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antônio Penha to maneuver through the defense. Mauro Urbano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Morales Moreira in the 29th minute. 34 minutes into the match, Waldir Cearense had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bebeto Aguiar. Nas Horas Vagas F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Waldir Cearense was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 37th minute, Cacá Matorin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tamboril fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Morales Moreira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mauro Urbano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Jonathan Alagoano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antonio Di Natale got free with Mauro Urbano in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edu Souza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Mauro Urbano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Morales Moreira in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mauro Urbano saved Tamboril from getting behind. After the first half Tamboril were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When Hugo Furlan fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nas Horas Vagas F.C's protests and gave Hugo Furlan a yellow card for diving instead. Bebeto Aguiar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cacá Matorin went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. In the 58th minute of the match, Waldir Cearense tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Bebeto Aguiar saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 59 minutes of play Nas Horas Vagas F.C's Hugo Furlan was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Nas Horas Vagas F.C getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Hugo Furlan hit a great ball. Bebeto Aguiar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enrique Berger in the 61st minute of play. In the 63rd match minute, Tamboril was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clemente Antunes to maneuver through the defense. Sidney Favoretto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Mauro Urbano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 65thth minute of the game Waldir Cearense who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Nas Horas Vagas F.C's Bebeto Aguiar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bebeto Aguiar didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 68th minute, which inside left pole to 0-6. In the 71st minute, Morales Moreira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nas Horas Vagas F.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-6. The audience was convinced that Morales Moreira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mauro Urbano was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jonathan Alagoano during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 92nd match minute, Tamboril was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Alagoano to maneuver through the defense. Antonio Di Natale struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Mauro Urbano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nas Horas Vagas F.C. Mauro Urbano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Morales Moreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute.
