The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Tamboril's Enrique Berger got a free kick in the 2nd minute. After 4 played minutes Os Fura Olho F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Zé Tande. Wágner Carneiro came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Tamboril's Cacá Matorin. But to his dismay, Cacá Matorin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Mauro Urbano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélio Capixaba, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Waldir Cearense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Wágner Carneiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Waldir Cearense in the 13th minute of play forced Os Fura Olho F.C.'s goalkeeper Wágner Carneiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Os Fura Olho F.C.'s Eliseu Toscano got a free kick in the 17th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eliseu Toscano got free with Mauro Urbano in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 21st minute of the match Os Fura Olho F.C. got a corner. Tamboril's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Richard-Dean Nixon ran over to the corner to take the kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zé Tande during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Waldir Cearense took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wágner Carneiro. Wágner Carneiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Os Fura Olho F.C.'s Wágner Carneiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrique Berger in the 34th minute of play. After 42 played minutes Os Fura Olho F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Ruy Nóbrega. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cacá Matorin was the one to do the kick off. Os Fura Olho F.C.'s Wágner Carneiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Waldir Cearense in the 55th minute of play. Wágner Carneiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Waldir Cearense in the 56th minute. 57 minutes into the match, Os Fura Olho F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Enrique Berger came free, but Wágner Carneiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Waldir Cearense took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for Wágner Carneiro to make any attempt to save it. 62 minutes into the match, Os Fura Olho F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Waldir Cearense came free, but Wágner Carneiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Tamboril's Cacá Matorin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Wágner Carneiro. That made the score 0-7 after 67 minutes of play. Wágner Carneiro made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Cacá Matorin sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Waldir Cearense managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tamboril's supporters rose to their feet, but Waldir Cearense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wágner Carneiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wágner Carneiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cacá Matorin in the 80th minute. In the 82nd minute Tamboril were awarded a corner. Rubens Torres went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Rubens Torres got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Wágner Carneiro quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 83 played minutes Waldir Cearense rounded Os Fura Olho F.C.'s defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-9. After having played for 90 minutes, Waldir Cearense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tamboril's supporters crossed their fingers, but Waldir Cearense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 92nd minute, Glauco Leão made a precise shot to the right of Wágner Carneiro. Os Fura Olho F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-11. Wágner Carneiro was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cacá Matorin showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-12 in the 98 minute of play. Tamboril's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
