Cameron Bartley kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Mexilhão F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Stacey Banning came free, but Guga Tavares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stacey Banning might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Guga Tavares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stacey Banning ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stacey Banning in the 15th minute of play forced Mexilhão F. C.'s goalkeeper Guga Tavares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stacey Banning sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Guga Tavares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cameron Bartley went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Guga Tavares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stacey Banning in the 37th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stacey Banning in the 46th minute of play forced Mexilhão F. C.'s goalkeeper Guga Tavares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 48th minute of the match River tu grato nombre got a corner. Mexilhão F. C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Porter Mansfield ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 48 played minutes River tu grato nombre got a freekick which was hit by Güvenç Yavuzay. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bon Scott to make the kick off. After taking down the ball on River tu grato nombre's corner Porter Mansfield fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Guga Tavares quite easily take care of the ball. With a little luck, Mexilhão F. C.'s Guga Tavares got control of the ball when Bon Scott tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Bon Scott managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peiter Erhardt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tony Angelsø's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. Stacey Banning struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Guga Tavares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for River tu grato nombre. Stacey Banning could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Guga Tavares made a huge save. The referee gave Mexilhão F. C. a penalty, 86 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Pedrão Mello, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of River tu grato nombre's Peiter Erhardt. 2-1. Mexilhão F. C.'s Pedrão Mello got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. River tu grato nombre's Peiter Erhardt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedrão Mello in the 96th minute of play. 99 minutes into the match, Stacey Banning notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Mexilhão F. C.'s Guga Tavares. Guga Tavares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mexilhão F. C. were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
