The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dominic Kindt in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Célio Varela saved BOA VISTA E.C. from getting behind. Silas Lira kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jüri Djorkaeff in the 42nd minute of play forced BOA VISTA E.C.'s goalkeeper Célio Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

With 82 minutes on the clock, Wagner Mamakin commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The Portus Ganda supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Portus Ganda would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
