But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zafer Yalçıner couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Franklin Negri put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Cyprian Mitus. The supporters of Estrela Vermelha booed when Resistencia Tayrona FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ospetsu Villagarcia didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd minute, Franklin Negri got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Franklin Negri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Cyprian Mitus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zafer Yalçıner's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 38thth minute, Cido de Medeiros skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Gilvan Baptista hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. If Franklin Negri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zafer Yalçıner made a kick off. When the match clock showed 51 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Zafer Yalçıner sped through Estrela Vermelha's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Cido de Medeiros. The supporters of Resistencia Tayrona FC booed when Estrela Vermelha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. The Resistencia Tayrona FC fans' excitement grew in the 73rd match minute when Resistencia Tayrona FC's Zafer Yalçıner looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Cido de Medeiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zafer Yalçıner in the 80th minute of the match. The Resistencia Tayrona FC fans' excitement grew in the 81st match minute when Resistencia Tayrona FC's Zafer Yalçıner looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Resistencia Tayrona FC made a substitution. Sydney Baiano replaced Zafer Yalçıner. Ingmar Kracke took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cido de Medeiros. Cido de Medeiros dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-1. In the 90thth minute of the game Sydney Baiano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Estrela Vermelha's Cido de Medeiros was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cido de Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sydney Baiano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sydney Baiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cido de Medeiros having to interfere. Cido de Medeiros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sydney Baiano's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Resistencia Tayrona FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Estrela Vermelha had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
