Mountain West FC were awarded a corner in the 5th minute after Margarita's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Van Walls took the corner. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sammy Nixon in the 6th minute of play forced Margarita's goalkeeper Danilo Aires to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Eddy Sheehan fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mountain West FC's protests and gave Eddy Sheehan a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Margarita booed when Mountain West FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eddy Sheehan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 8th minute, Rigoberto Bernal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th minute, Margarita's Rigoberto Bernal dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. A collision led to Mountain West FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Van Walls hit a great ball. 21 minutes into the match, Mountain West FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luciano Mon came free, but Roy Holman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rdth minute of the game Sammy Nixon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Margarita's Danilo Aires was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 25th minute, Luciano Mon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Roy Holman was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severo Rivero in the 30th minute of play forced Mountain West FC's goalkeeper Roy Holman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd minute, Severo Rivero left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Margarita fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Roy Holman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severo Rivero in the 37th minute of the match. Roy Holman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rigoberto Bernal in the 40th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severo Rivero in the 41st minute of play forced Mountain West FC's goalkeeper Roy Holman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Rigoberto Bernal kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Roy Holman. That made the score 5-0 in the 43 minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sammy Nixon in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Danilo Aires prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rigoberto Bernal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Danilo Aires made an important save on a dangerous shot by Angelo Dumas in the 56th minute. Roy Holman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luciano Mon in the 64th minute of the match. 68 minutes had been played when some careless play by Margarita's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Van Walls was slow to take the kick. During this time Mountain West FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Van Walls almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Margarita's Danilo Aires did a great save. Roy Holman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rigoberto Bernal in the 70th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severo Rivero in the 72nd minute of play forced Mountain West FC's goalkeeper Roy Holman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 73 minutes Mountain West FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gavino Guillelme who took care of the corner kick. When Luciano Mon came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Margarita fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luciano Mon couldn't finish the play. Mountain West FC made a substitution. Carson Fujieda replaced Angelo Dumas. Mountain West FC's Darrell Humphrey was substituted for Chris Reyna. 87 minutes into the game, Margarita's Severo Rivero nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Roy Holman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. A collision led to Mountain West FC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Montrel Belber hit a great ball. 93 minutes into the match, Mountain West FC's goal looked a bit too open when Severo Rivero came free, but Roy Holman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Danilo Aires showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carson Fujieda in the 94th minute of the match. Margarita walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
