The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to BEST FABIO F.C. getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Rômulo dos Santos hit a great ball. Christiano de Barros might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ruy Cearense. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Christiano de Barros ran back to his position shaking his head. Ruy Cearense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vivaldo Carmona, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Vivaldo Carmona took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ruy Cearense. Ruy Cearense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Rômulo dos Santos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Rubinho de Amaral made a huge save. If Rômulo dos Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rubinho de Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laerte Godoi in the 18th minute of the match. In the 20th minute, Vinícius Perez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The corner ended in Alexsandro Tróia almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but BEST FABIO F.C.'s Ruy Cearense did a great save. The Real Cruzeiro FC fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when Real Cruzeiro FC's Alexsandro Tróia looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ruy Cearense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Baltazar Zonta's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. Ruy Cearense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Josué Paiva in the 28th minute of the match. BEST FABIO F.C.:s Ruy Cearense showed great skill when he stopped Baltazar Zonta:s penalty. Rômulo dos Santos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Rubinho de Amaral made a huge save. In the 39th minute Baltazar Zonta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruy Cearense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vânderson da Cunha during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 40th match minute, BEST FABIO F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vânderson da Cunha to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in BEST FABIO F.C.'s zone, Christiano de Barros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ruy Cearense came out of the goal and Christiano de Barros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vivaldo Carmona took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ruy Cearense. Ruy Cearense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. In the 45thth minute of the game Baltazar Zonta who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but BEST FABIO F.C.'s Ruy Cearense was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

After a defensive mix-up in BEST FABIO F.C.'s zone, Vivaldo Carmona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ruy Cearense came out of the goal and Vivaldo Carmona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After taking down the ball on Real Cruzeiro FC's corner Vivaldo Carmona fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ruy Cearense quite easily take care of the ball. Real Cruzeiro FC's Vivaldo Carmona was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 53rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Real Cruzeiro FC's Baltazar Zonta got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 60 minutes into the match, BEST FABIO F.C.'s goalkeeper Ruy Cearense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Baltazar Zonta. In the 61st minute of the match Real Cruzeiro FC got a corner. BEST FABIO F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Baltazar Zonta ran over to the corner to take the kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Josué Paiva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Real Cruzeiro FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Josué Paiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ruy Cearense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Baltazar Zontas short, quick shot in the 69thth minute got Ruy Cearense to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Juan Couto charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juan Couto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 73 played minutes BEST FABIO F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Juan Couto. 75 minutes into the game, Alexsandro Tróia recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ruy Cearense. Alexsandro Tróia showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. 80 minutes into the match, Baltazar Zonta had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ruy Cearense. BEST FABIO F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Baltazar Zonta was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. 83 minutes into the game, Vinícius Perez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. BEST FABIO F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Real Cruzeiro FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, BEST FABIO F.C.'s Vinícius Perez got a free kick in the 84th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vivaldo Carmona in the 89th minute of play forced BEST FABIO F.C.'s goalkeeper Ruy Cearense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 90 minutes, the score became 0-8 when Baltazar Zonta sped through BEST FABIO F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ruy Cearense. Ruy Cearense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Baltazar Zonta's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute.
