The referee ignored HELVETIA's protests and gave Osvaldo Pereira a yellow card for diving instead. Osvaldo Pereira kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. In the 10th minute Julián Álvarez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mazinho Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the game, Julián Álvarez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Mazinho Fernandez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mazinho Fernandez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolas Tagliafico, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 16th minute, Sílvio Luís Melo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. HELVETIA's Mazinho Fernandez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Tagliafico in the 21st minute of play. In the 23rd minute Edgardo Erramu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mazinho Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes into the game, Julián Álvarez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Mazinho Fernandez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mazinho Fernandez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnaldo Gabino in the 32nd minute of the match. 33 minutes into the game, Arnaldo Gabino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. Mazinho Fernandez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mazinho Fernandez came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by LegionArgentina's Arnaldo Gabino. But to his dismay, Arnaldo Gabino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-7. In the 40th minute, Edgardo Erramu made a precise shot to the right of Mazinho Fernandez. HELVETIA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-8. The HELVETIA players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. LegionArgentina were winning 0-8.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julián Álvarez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind HELVETIA's goalkeeper Mazinho Fernandez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to HELVETIA getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Fernando Pombal hit a great ball. Mazinho Fernandez didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when LegionArgentina's Julián Álvarez shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-9 in the ordered_time% minute. 57 minutes in the game, Edgardo Erramu fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Mazinho Fernandez having to interfere. 61 minutes into the game, Arnaldo Gabino recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mazinho Fernandez. Arnaldo Gabino showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-11. Mazinho Fernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolas Tagliafico, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mazinho Fernandez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Generoso Gau in the 65th minute. 68 minutes into the game, LegionArgentina's Santos Teyo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mazinho Fernandez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-12. The crowd rose to their feet as Nicolas Tagliafico kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mazinho Fernandez. That made the score 0-14 in the 74 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arnaldo Gabino got free with Mazinho Fernandez in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 79 minutes into the match, Julián Álvarez notched a goal, 0-15, to the right of HELVETIA's Mazinho Fernandez. Mazinho Fernandez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mazinho Fernandez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Julián Álvarez went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-16 was the resulting score. 89 minutes into the match, Nicolas Tagliafico dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Mazinho Fernandez, 0-17. In the 93rd minute, LegionArgentina's Arnaldo Gabino dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-18. When the final whistle sounded LegionArgentina left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than HELVETIA.
