Lauro Cearense started the match with the kick off. In the 3rdth minute of the game Geovanildo Luis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AS Pikachuzim's Oliverio Kahn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 7th minute, Geovanildo Luis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Oliverio Kahn was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Haji Sarap made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santos Rallo in the 20th minute of play. In the 22nd minute Geovanildo Luis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oliverio Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Geovanildo Luis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Oliverio Kahn. That made the score 2-0 in the 24 minute of play. If Ronaldinho Gaucho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Geovanildo Luis succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-0 in the 35th playminute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geovanildo Luis in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oliverio Kahn saved AS Pikachuzim from getting behind. In the 45th minute of the match Joinville City - FSCMZ got a corner. AS Pikachuzim's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Henrique Camargo ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Joinville City - FSCMZ's Henrique Camargo to fire away a dangerous shot which Oliverio Kahn despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

AS Pikachuzim's Eric Ramires was substituted for Santos Rallo. If Luciano Sarmento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Haji Sarap was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. Oliverio Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adhemar Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joinville City - FSCMZ were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of AS Pikachuzim for a fine match.
