In the 15th minute Mario Alberto Kempes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evaristo Velasco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Cachiyuyo EAS's goal looked a bit too open when Mario Alberto Kempes came free, but Evaristo Velasco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 17 played minutes Laurita FC got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Manni. Cachiyuyo EAS made a substitution. Dito Sena replaced Ermegildo Patrido. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Evaristo Velasco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 35th minute, Mario Alberto Kempes made a precise shot to the right of Evaristo Velasco. Cachiyuyo EAS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. The supporters of Laurita FC booed when Cachiyuyo EAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgard Polentzi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mario Alberto Kempes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabricio Rencio in the 54th minute of play forced Laurita FC's goalkeeper Arnulfo Kinsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 56th minute Cachiyuyo EAS were awarded a corner. Apolo Romero went to the cornerflag to take it. Bernardino Ofelio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Fabricio Rencio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
