Berten De Spiegeleire made in the 5th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Mbaka Mbolu immediately put the ball in play. Gustaf Eklund made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Mbaka Mbolu sent off a good shot on target. Belgium's Arnoud de Pelsmakere played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Käller in the 20th minute of play. In the 24th minute Henrik Berg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnoud de Pelsmakere saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Leopold Van den Paenhuysen in the 27th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Sweden's Sven-Oskar Carlsson. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mbaka Mbolu got free with Gustaf Eklund in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 36th match minute, Belgium was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mbaka Mbolu to maneuver through the defense. Arnoud de Pelsmakere made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Käller in the 37th minute of play. Mbaka Mbolu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gustaf Eklund came out and tried to block the shot, but Mbaka Mbolu slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 41st minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Mbaka Mbolu kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. Gustaf Eklund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mbaka Mbolu in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 54th minute, Sweden's Sebastian Käller ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Arnoud de Pelsmakere. Arnoud de Pelsmakere yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Sebastian Käller's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arnoud de Pelsmakere read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. In the 67th minute of the match Sweden got a corner. Belgium's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joacim Hansson ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Joacim Hansson got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Arnoud de Pelsmakere quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 72nd minute, Mbaka Mbolu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Belgium fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Sweden were awarded a corner in the 79th minute after Belgium's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joacim Hansson took the corner. In the 81stth minute of the game Sebastian Käller who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Belgium's Arnoud de Pelsmakere was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gustaf Eklund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armand Steenberghs in the 83rd minute of play. Sebastian Käller blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arnoud de Pelsmakere having to make a save. Sebastian Käller scored 2-3 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arnoud de Pelsmakere, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sweden's Oskar Wållander was substituted for Doug Traoré. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Belgium's goalkeeper Arnoud de Pelsmakere, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
