Thibaut Zengers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Thanasis Koltsidas made a huge save. 10 minutes into the game, Thibaut Zengers was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. La Divina Commedia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AEK S.C the free kick. La Divina Commedia made a substitution. Dante Martinelli replaced Thibaut Zengers. After a rather tough play, La Divina Commedia's Thibaut Zengers got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 13th minute Thalis Krommidas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jákó Myroforidis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Thalis Krommidas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jákó Myroforidis was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. La Divina Commedia's Niko Kramer was substituted for Gert Tuyp. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Thalis Krommidas in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jákó Myroforidis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 45 played minutes AEK S.C got a freekick which was hit by Marcelo Winter. AEK S.C's Thanasis Koltsidas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Huib Haar in the 47th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Huib Haar was the one to do the kick off. Jákó Myroforidis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thalis Krommidas in the 64th minute. Thanasis Koltsidas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilco Swart, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Kevin Carreira's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jákó Myroforidis firmly grabbed it by the left post. Dante Martinelli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Thanasis Koltsidas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
