The audience thought a goal was coming when Ian Andersson got free with Gilles Eekhout in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 6th minute Demis Papastefanou shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfons Sjö saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 8 minutes into the match, Garsås IF's goal looked a bit too open when Demis Papastefanou came free, but Alfons Sjö reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilles Eekhout showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ola Lund, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Gilles Eekhout yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Jardel Head received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Alfons Sjö tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ola Lund made a kick off. In the 55th match minute, AC Milan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jardel Head to maneuver through the defense. Garsås IF's defense didn't have a chance, in the 58th minute, when Jardel Head scored to the left of an out of position Alfons Sjö, making the score, 2-1. Alfons Sjö stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valerios Papagiannakos's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. 70 minutes into the match, Garsås IF's goalkeeper Alfons Sjö had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jardel Head. In the 74th match minute, AC Milan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mats Hummels to maneuver through the defense. AC Milan's Tony Hegg was substituted for Valerios Papagiannakos. Garsås IF's Göran Lindholm was substituted for Önder Sezer. The supporters of Garsås IF booed when AC Milan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Garsås IF fans cheered their team off the field, for while AC Milan had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
