An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulus Van Hove in the 13th minute of play forced Zagłębie Dąbrowskie's goalkeeper Marian Chilavert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 15 minutes had been played when some careless play by Zagłębie Dąbrowskie's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Levi Mertens was slow to take the kick. During this time de belletrekkers's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Levi Mertens almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Zagłębie Dąbrowskie's Marian Chilavert did a great save. With an all-out effort, Zagłębie Dąbrowskie's Kristiaan Van de Velde threw himself towards the right post 20 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Karol Biskupiak, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Kristiaan Van de Velde was a little too slow when Karol Biskupiak got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 28th minute. The score was now 2-0. Kristiaan Van de Velde made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Ömür Seyfeddin sent off a good shot on target. Karol Biskupiak scored 3-0 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kristiaan Van de Velde, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 44th minute, Otto Alberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulus Van Hove to make the kick off. Kristiaan Van de Velde showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ziemowit Tomporowski in the 50th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Levi Mertens got free with Marian Chilavert in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marian Chilavert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Van Der Meeren, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. A collision led to Zagłębie Dąbrowskie getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Ziemowit Tomporowski hit a great ball. After 63 minutes, Paulus Van Hove mouthed his way into the referee's book.
