The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jose Bermudez during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 3rd match minute, Maitros FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Bermudez to maneuver through the defense. Oliver Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baltazar Bentos in the 3rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edwin Ortiz in the 13th minute of play forced GALENA-NORTH's goalkeeper Géza Kocsis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Sarbelio Rico fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maitros FC's protests and gave Sarbelio Rico a yellow card for diving instead. After 20 minutes, Joselito Del Cid mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GALENA-NORTH and the Maitros FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, GALENA-NORTH's Joselito Del Cid got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 22nd minute Armin Mächler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Géza Kocsis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcu Ciupe in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Oliver Kahn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 26 minutes into the match, Maitros FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alvaro Alvarenga came free, but Oliver Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 29 minutes had been played when some careless play by Maitros FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Baltazar Bentos was slow to take the kick. During this time GALENA-NORTH's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Baltazar Bentos got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Oliver Kahn quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 31 minutes into the game, Baltazar Bentos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Oliver Kahn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. GALENA-NORTH's Géza Kocsis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save GALENA-NORTH from getting a goal against them. If Marcu Ciupe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Oliver Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcu Ciupe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Oliver Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcu Ciupe in the 40th minute of the match.

After a rather tough play, GALENA-NORTH's Marcu Ciupe got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 53rd match minute, GALENA-NORTH was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcu Ciupe to maneuver through the defense. Jose Bermudez was shown his second yellow card after 57 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Maitros FC's Jose Bermudez got a free kick in the 58th minute. The supporters of GALENA-NORTH booed when Maitros FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Bermudez didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpected shot in the 60th minute by Marcu Ciupe got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Géza Kocsis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jon Bobadilla, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Baltazar Bentos scored 0-2 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Oliver Kahn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. GALENA-NORTH made a substitution. Wilber Navas replaced Baltazar Bentos. With his leg Oliver Kahn managed to avoid a goal in the 75thth minute, when GALENA-NORTH's Wilber Navas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 77 minutes into the match, Maitros FC's goalkeeper Oliver Kahn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcu Ciupe. GALENA-NORTH's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Alvaro Alvarenga in the 79th minute. The corner ended in Alvaro Alvarenga almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Maitros FC's Oliver Kahn did a great save. After 80 played minutes GALENA-NORTH got a freekick which was hit by Wilber Navas. After 83 minutes of play GALENA-NORTH's Joselito Del Cid was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to GALENA-NORTH getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Joselito Del Cid hit a great ball. 84 minutes into the match, GALENA-NORTH's goal looked a bit too open when Duarte Barreto came free, but Géza Kocsis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Omar Ourente hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Maitros FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 89th minute, when Marcu Ciupe scored to the left of an out of position Oliver Kahn, making the score, 0-3. 93 minutes into the match, GALENA-NORTH's goal looked a bit too open when Duarte Barreto came free, but Géza Kocsis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Maitros FC lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
