In the 13th minute Steffen Gimlinge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Chayo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rolando Misael sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Club Universidad Nacional's Arnoud de Pelsmakere played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvano Cibran in the 17th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Gerardo Nesto kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Juan Chayo. That made the score 1-1 in the 22 minute of play. Arnoud de Pelsmakere showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonides Jatsu in the 26th minute of the match. Fractal FC's Juan Chayo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Fractal FC from getting a goal against them. Malcom James fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Chayo having to interfere. Juan Chayo made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Steffen Gimlinge sent off a good shot on target. 41 minutes in the game, Feliciano Frans fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Juan Chayo having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Silvano Cibran was the one to do the kick off. When Club Universidad Nacional's Feliciano Frans in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Silvano Cibran could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Arnoud de Pelsmakere made a huge save. In the 74th minute of the match Fractal FC got a corner. Club Universidad Nacional's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Leonides Jatsu ran over to the corner to take the kick. Fractal FC made a substitution. Fernan Ler replaced Severiano Mendiko. After some careless play in the Fractal FC defense, Steffen Gimlinge kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Juan Chayo. The Fractal FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Juan Chayo should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Fractal FC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Rolando Misael hit a great ball. Juan Chayo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steffen Gimlinge in the 95th minute of play. Fractal FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
