Thomas Verheydt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oswaldo Murillo having to interfere. Thomas Verheydt's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 28thth minute, Oswaldo Murillo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Freddie de Nooijer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgilio Txindoki, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Eusebio Beltran's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Freddie de Nooijer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. In the 38th minute of the match Águilas Poblanas got a corner. Vampiros Aztecas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. The corner led Águilas Poblanas's Eusebio Beltran to fire away a dangerous shot which Freddie de Nooijer despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Freddie de Nooijer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusebio Beltran, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Dé Töpper received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Oswaldo Murillo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Águilas Poblanas made a substitution. Ciro Matai replaced Iker Urti. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eusebio Beltran made a kick off. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 91st minute, Macedonio Fonticoba made a precise shot to the right of Oswaldo Murillo. Águilas Poblanas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Macedonio Fonticoba's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Oswaldo Murillo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. After 96 minutes, Dé Töpper mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vampiros Aztecas and the Águilas Poblanas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Águilas Poblanas's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
