Jhonnatan Rosales struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Christian Hinguanzo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Halton Holegate City. Marvin Sanchez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo Machado in the 36th minute of play. 38 minutes into the match, Leopoldo Machado notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Halton Holegate City's Marvin Sanchez. Marvin Sanchez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Halton Holegate City's Lorenzo Pimentel suffered a sore thigh after 41 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Julio Nunes during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Julio Nunes hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Marvin Sanchez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jhalmar Mendoza in the 44th minute of the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jhalmar Mendoza made a kick off. Marvin Sanchez was a little too slow when Jhalmar Mendoza got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 51st minute. The score was now 0-2. Leopoldo Machado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Marvin Sanchez made a huge save. Leopoldo Machado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th minute, Ruben Leiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marvin Sanchez made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Leopoldo Machado sent off a good shot on target. Halton Holegate City's Marvin Sanchez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Halton Holegate City from getting a goal against them. In the 72nd minute Jhalmar Mendoza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marvin Sanchez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 77 minutes of play, Halton Holegate City's Jhonnatan Rosales made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Christian Hinguanzo was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Leopoldo Machado got free with Marvin Sanchez in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jhalmar Mendoza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marvin Sanchez having to interfere. Marvin Sanchez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leopoldo Machado in the 89th minute. Julio Nunes hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. In the 91st minute of the match Cesar Mayen sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Christian Hinguanzo skillfully saved the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Leigh United's zone, Jhonnatan Rosales stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christian Hinguanzo came out of the goal and Jhonnatan Rosales tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leigh United's Leopoldo Machado got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Leigh United players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
