Antonio Van Brussel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nacho Guerrero in the 4th minute of play. Leonel Ortiz hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Felix Stenqvist hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Nacho Guerrero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Antonio Van Brussel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, PUNTARENENSE F.C's Leonel Ortiz got a free kick in the 11th minute. In the 11th minute of the match Walter Centeno shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Antonio Van Brussel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 13 played minutes PUNTARENENSE F.C got a freekick which was hit by Charles Trevisan. After a defensive mix-up in PUNTARENENSE F.C's zone, Anibal Gallo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Antonio Van Brussel came out of the goal and Anibal Gallo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Antonio Van Brussel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nikos Valassiou in the 15th minute of play. Anibal Gallo was slow to take the kick. During this time CS La Libertad's players had a chance to rest. Nikos Valassiou recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bebeto de Senna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Macho Madrigal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nacho Guerrero blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Antonio Van Brussel having to make a save. After 38 minutes PUNTARENENSE F.C's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Anibal Gallo who took care of the corner kick. The corner led CS La Libertad's Nacho Guerrero to fire away a dangerous shot which Antonio Van Brussel despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 41 minutes into the match, PUNTARENENSE F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Nacho Guerrero came free, but Antonio Van Brussel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, Julian Gaueko notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of CS La Libertad's Bebeto de Senna. Bebeto de Senna was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nacho Guerrero made a kick off. Bebeto de Senna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Macho Madrigal, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. 54 minutes into the match, PUNTARENENSE F.C's goalkeeper Antonio Van Brussel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nacho Guerrero. After having played for 56 minutes, Nacho Guerrero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CS La Libertad's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nacho Guerrero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 61 minutes, Nacho Cordoba mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the PUNTARENENSE F.C and the CS La Libertad players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 61st match minute, PUNTARENENSE F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nacho Cordoba to maneuver through the defense. Bebeto de Senna came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by PUNTARENENSE F.C's Julian Gaueko. But to his dismay, Julian Gaueko quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leopoldo Nuñez in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bebeto de Senna saved CS La Libertad from getting behind. Bebeto de Senna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leopoldo Nuñez, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Bebeto de Senna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Gaueko in the 80th minute of the match. If Leopoldo Nuñez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. CS La Libertad made a substitution. Manrique Cisneros replaced Gerardo Millot. CS La Libertad made a substitution. Dênis Maia replaced Nacho Guerrero. Leonel Ortiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. PUNTARENENSE F.C had won after a very even match.
