Nikos Valassiou might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emilio Maldonado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nikos Valassiou ran back to his position shaking his head. Emilio Maldonado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nikos Valassiou went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 10th minute, Nikos Valassiou ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Emilio Maldonado was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Rodrigo Lobos short, quick shot in the 13thth minute got Emilio Maldonado to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Bebeto de Senna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonel Chavarria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 17 minutes into the match, Nikos Valassiou had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emilio Maldonado. Real Rosario Central's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nikos Valassiou was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Real Rosario Central's Emilio Maldonado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Real Rosario Central from getting a goal against them. In the 25th minute, Nikos Valassiou made a precise shot to the right of Emilio Maldonado. Real Rosario Central's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodrigo Lobo got free with Emilio Maldonado in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Beto Alfaro fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Rosario Central's protests and gave Beto Alfaro a yellow card for diving instead. CS La Libertad's Bebeto de Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beto Alfaro in the 33rd minute of play. Gerardo Millot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bebeto de Senna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ismael Mena, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. 37 minutes into the match, Rodrigo Lobo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Emilio Maldonado, 7-0. 40 minutes into the match, Real Rosario Central's goalkeeper Emilio Maldonado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nikos Valassiou. Anibal Gallo's late challenge caught a Real Rosario Central's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anibal Gallo helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to CS La Libertad getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Anibal Gallo hit a great ball. Bebeto de Senna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ismael Mena in the 44th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 7-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leonel Chavarria made a kick off. Emilio Maldonado came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by CS La Libertad's Gerardo Millot. But to his dismay, Gerardo Millot quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. Emilio Maldonado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrigo Lobo, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Emilio Maldonado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nikos Valassiou in the 61st minute of the match. After 63rd play minutes Nikos Valassiou shot 9-0, a short shot which went by Emilio Maldonado and just under the crossbar into goal. CS La Libertad made a substitution. Isidro Madriz replaced Rodrigo Lobo. Emilio Maldonado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nikos Valassiou, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Nikos Valassiou took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Emilio Maldonado. After some careless play in the Real Rosario Central defense, Agustin Barrantes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emilio Maldonado. The Real Rosario Central fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emilio Maldonado should have stopped the shot. Agustin Barrantes took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Emilio Maldonado. Emilio Maldonado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 12-0. In the 81st minute, Manrique Cisneros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luis Pinto kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Emilio Maldonado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isidro Madriz in the 83rd minute of the match. Emilio Maldonado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustin Barrantes, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. A beautiful save bye Real Rosario Central's goalie prevented a goal. CS La Libertad walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
