Emilio Maldonado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronald Cantillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Real Rosario Central's Emilio Maldonado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arsenio Sanchez in the 12th minute of play. In the 14th minute Marco-Aurelio Ureña shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Maldonado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dalkurd FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Valentin Guevara in the 15th minute. Hugo Amador was a little too slow when Beto Alfaro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 17th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 28th minute Leonel Chavarria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Amador saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd match minute, Real Rosario Central was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank Ulloa to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Real Rosario Central's Luis Pinto got a free kick in the 36th minute. Emilio Maldonado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arsenio Sanchez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emilio Maldonado came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Dalkurd FC's Arsenio Sanchez. But to his dismay, Arsenio Sanchez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Hugo Amador made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonel Chavarria in the 44th minute of play. Marco-Aurelio Ureña hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Marco-Aurelio Ureña blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Emilio Maldonado having to make a save. Dalkurd FC's Hugo Amador played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonel Chavarria in the 55th minute of play. Frank Ulloa hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Dalkurd FC's Ulises Ulloa got a free kick in the 59th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Dalkurd FC's Arsenio Sanchez slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Emilio Maldonado. That made the score 1-3 after 66 minutes of play. Emilio Maldonado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronald Cantillo in the 71st minute of play. Marco-Aurelio Ureña kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonel Chavarria in the 73rd minute of play forced Dalkurd FC's goalkeeper Hugo Amador to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arsenio Sanchez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Emilio Maldonado made a huge save. In the 77th match minute, Real Rosario Central was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Salomon Esquivel to maneuver through the defense. Arsenio Sanchez might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emilio Maldonado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arsenio Sanchez ran back to his position shaking his head. Arsenio Sanchez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Emilio Maldonado having to make a save. 87 minutes into the game, Arsenio Sanchez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Emilio Maldonado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Marco-Aurelio Ureña came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Dalkurd FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marco-Aurelio Ureña couldn't finish the play. Arsenio Sanchez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Emilio Maldonado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
