The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Caio Hornilla blasted a shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mendebal Meruendano having to make a save. In the 7th minute of the match, Caio Hornilla got a very nice opportunity to score, but Mendebal Meruendano was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When Sporting Chilcano's Lionel Ronaldo in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Eraldo Guzman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Santotis in the 24th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caio Hornilla in the 27th minute of play forced Sporting Chilcano's goalkeeper Mendebal Meruendano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes into the match, Variante Delta's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Santotis came free, but Eraldo Guzman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Variante Delta's Caio Hornilla in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Ladislao Erramu was the one to do the kick off. After 57 played minutes Variante Delta got a freekick which was hit by Dominic Forcat. With a little luck, Variante Delta's Eraldo Guzman got control of the ball when Lionel Ronaldo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mendebal Meruendano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ladislao Erramu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cuartio Sesmilo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sporting Chilcano made a substitution. Bruno Chinchilla replaced Paul Trielles. Sporting Chilcano's Baumer Sator was substituted for Fidele Gadea. The supporters of Variante Delta booed when Sporting Chilcano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lionel Ronaldo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Variante Delta's Serapio Reigada was substituted for Cuartio Sesmilo. A collision led to Variante Delta getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Dominic Forcat hit a great ball. When Modestio Cañucal came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Sporting Chilcano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Modestio Cañucal couldn't finish the play. In the 81st minute, Belo Cabuerniga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 84 minutes Sporting Chilcano's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ferdinand Bjørn who took care of the corner kick. Variante Delta's Serapio Reigada was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mendebal Meruendano in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting Chilcano's zone, Ferdinand Bjørn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mendebal Meruendano came out of the goal and Ferdinand Bjørn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mendebal Meruendano came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Variante Delta's Ladislao Erramu. But to his dismay, Ladislao Erramu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Eraldo Guzman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Santotis, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. In the 96th minute of the match Sporting Chilcano got a corner. Variante Delta's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Modestio Cañucal ran over to the corner to take the kick. Gilesindo Pastrana was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
