In the 4th minute Buenaventura FC were awarded a corner. Rigoberto Lozano went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Rigoberto Lozano almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Veracruz F.C.'s Shoto Maathai did a great save. 10 minutes into the match, Buenaventura FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ang Reifer came free, but Carlos Eduardo Ramos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute, Ang Reifer made a precise shot to the right of Carlos Eduardo Ramos. Buenaventura FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Rigoberto Lozano kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Buenaventura FC's Carlos Eduardo Ramos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kenan M'Vila in the 16th minute of play. Rodolfo Dias struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Shoto Maathai didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Buenaventura FC. 18 minutes into the match, Buenaventura FC's Rodolfo Dias sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Shoto Maathai narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Jose Castro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Buenaventura FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jose Castro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Shoto Maathai breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 27th minute Max Moscoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Eduardo Ramos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Shoto Maathai stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Walter Bock's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Carlos Eduardo Ramos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Manuel Facuse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 39 minutes into the match, Veracruz F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Walter Bock came free, but Shoto Maathai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Eduardo Ramos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ang Reifer, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. 45 minutes into the game, Rigoberto Lozano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Shoto Maathai was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

The wind increased when Walter Bock made the kick off in the second half. Shoto Maathai showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walter Bock in the 53rd minute of the match. When Ang Reifer fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Veracruz F.C.'s protests and gave Ang Reifer a yellow card for diving instead. Rigoberto Lozano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shoto Maathai having to interfere. Ang Reifer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Eduardo Ramos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ang Reifer in the 68th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Rigoberto Lozano got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Shoto Maathai quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 76thth minute of the game Walter Bock who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Veracruz F.C.'s Shoto Maathai was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Buenaventura FC's Carlos Eduardo Ramos got control of the ball when Alberto Ortiz tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 85th minute Walter Bock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shoto Maathai saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Eduardo Ramos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Max Moscoso's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. Rodolfo Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shoto Maathai having to interfere. 95 minutes into the game, Alberto Ortiz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Carlos Eduardo Ramos. Alberto Ortiz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
