After a rather tough play, DT Quito's Abel Miquel got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Zornin Aspurua shot the penalty kick right outside the post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ascencio Raña in the 12th minute of play forced DT Quito's goalkeeper Coyette Rescuro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ascencio Raña's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Coyette Rescuro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. Coyette Rescuro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ascencio Raña in the 16th minute of the match. Xuoco Portela kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. DT Quito's Coyette Rescuro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulizes Guerris in the 24th minute of play. 26 minutes into the game, one of DT Quito:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Patricio Manglano shot the penalty kick right outside the post. When Abel Miquel fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored DT Quito's protests and gave Abel Miquel a yellow card for diving instead. In the 32nd minute, Abel Miquel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 36 played minutes DT Quito got a freekick which was hit by Zornin Aspurua. Coyette Rescuro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ascencio Raña, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 41 minutes into the match, DT Quito's goal looked a bit too open when Ulizes Guerris came free, but Coyette Rescuro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulizes Guerris in the 45th minute of play forced DT Quito's goalkeeper Coyette Rescuro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 47 minutes into the match, DT Quito's Jaime Ocon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Herman Björkman narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Oswaldo Abendaño stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jaime Ocon struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Herman Björkman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for DT Quito. In the 59th minute, Ascencio Raña got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jaime Ocon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Herman Björkman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 70th minute by Ascencio Raña got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Coyette Rescuro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ascencio Raña in the 72nd minute of play. In the 73rd minute, Abel Miquel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ulizes Guerris recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Abel Miquel hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. After having played for 78 minutes, Ascencio Raña managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ZABECA DE MI BOGUE DORAPA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ascencio Raña was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Coyette Rescuro was out of position in the 89 minute of play, and Ascencio Raña capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ascencio Raña really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. In the 92nd minute, Camilo Farell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Oswaldo Abendaño in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Herman Björkman saved ZABECA DE MI BOGUE DORAPA from getting behind. After having played for 94 minutes, Jaime Ocon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. DT Quito's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jaime Ocon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched ZABECA DE MI BOGUE DORAPA eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
