The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 叶钢树's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Villegas Llames read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Xuan Morana in the 9th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Colgate F.C.'s Zoilo Palou. A collision led to Colgate F.C. getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Diego Sojo hit a great ball. Villegas Llames made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Urbez Rossell sent off a good shot on target. Urbez Rossell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Villegas Llames tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Urbez Rossell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Colgate F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Urbez Rossell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Villegas Llames breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 35 minutes into the match, Chicticay SC's goalkeeper Villegas Llames had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Urbez Rossell. 叶钢树 recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 37th minute, Urbez Rossell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Villegas Llames took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 叶钢树, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Urbez Rossell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Villegas Llames tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Castro Gamez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Villota Quejura having to interfere. 叶钢树 struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Villegas Llames didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Colgate F.C.. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Oswaldo Fernando was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Diego Sojo during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Villegas Llames made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Chicticay SC's Castro Gamez got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Chicticay SC's zone, Urbez Rossell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Villegas Llames came out of the goal and Urbez Rossell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 76 minutes, 叶钢树 managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Colgate F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but 叶钢树 was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 叶钢树 sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Colgate F.C.'s Valiente Mayoral managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Arnoldo Babia in the 83 minute of the game. 叶钢树 sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 91 minutes into the match, Chicticay SC's goal looked a bit too open when Valiente Mayoral came free, but Villegas Llames reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 叶钢树 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute.
