Without hesitation aimed to the right of David Cubria, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. David Cubria made an important save on a dangerous shot by Martinez Caballero in the 29th minute. Urko Senabres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. David Cubria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. David Cubria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Urko Senabres, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Martinez Caballero who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 34thth minute tested the skills of David Cubria when he managed to save the team from getting behind. David Cubria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Urko Senabres in the 46th minute of play. When Martinez Caballero came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the C. D. Guayaquil fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martinez Caballero couldn't finish the play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Parisi Quer made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Urko Senabres in the 87th minute of play forced UD Travesado's goalkeeper David Cubria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Martinez Caballero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Cubria having to interfere. Guayaquil were the better team. C. D. Guayaquil's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
