Freibeuter of Sankt Pauli were furious when Cristian Cañas was red carded, 60 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 62nd minute of the match Enrique Benvido sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Juan-Alfredo Astiategui skillfully saved the ball. In the 64th minute, Alejo Marin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walme Caldero in the 94th minute of play forced Barcelona Sporting Club's goalkeeper Florian Wesener to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute, Ubelteso Amundarain reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Juan-Alfredo Astiategui. The goal made the score 2-2. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
