Xzavier Besteiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Garcés Bribiesca in the 10th minute of play. Hal Villegas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucio Bernabe in the 13th minute of the match. After 16 minutes of play, Azulgranas's Javier Cañarte made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hal Villegas was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Lucio Bernabe, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 30 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Hal Villegas was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 33rd minute, Lucio Bernabe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lucio Bernabe during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
