After a defensive mix-up in Justice League's zone, Humberto Zulueta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hal Villegas came out of the goal and Humberto Zulueta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Elkin Lucena was the one to do the kick off. Justice League's Hal Villegas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elkin Lucena in the 51st minute of play. Navarro Garay could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Hal Villegas made a huge save. After 54 minutes, Mario Barriola mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Justice League and the Atahualpa SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 70th match minute, Atahualpa SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flavio Cotarelo to maneuver through the defense. When Edwin Villayres came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Justice League fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edwin Villayres couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Navarro Garay in the 84th minute of play forced Justice League's goalkeeper Hal Villegas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Edwin Villayres notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Atahualpa SC's Mane Varandalla. Mane Varandalla was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a little luck, Justice League's Hal Villegas got control of the ball when Xavion Velis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Justice League walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
