In the 9th minute ...Pingue S.C.... were awarded a corner. Michael Pardaves went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Reinaldo Freitas managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After having played for 11 minutes, Paulo Yurre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ...Pingue S.C....'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Yurre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Michael Pardaves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Olavo Velloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in ...Pingue S.C....'s zone, Youssef Malek stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Javier Abin came out of the goal and Youssef Malek tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Javier Abin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Youssef Malek in the 19th minute of play. In the 21st minute Youssef Malek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Javier Abin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Revolución Joao FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cuero Ibañez in the 22nd minute. Javier Abin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Youssef Malek in the 23rd minute of play. Javier Abin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Youssef Malek's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. Olavo Velloso made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Paulo Yurre sent off a good shot on target. In the 31st minute Youssef Malek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Javier Abin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes into the game, ...Pingue S.C....'s Paulo Yurre nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Olavo Velloso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 41 minutes into the match, Revolución Joao FC's Youssef Malek sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Javier Abin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Revolución Joao FC's Olavo Velloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santi Gavilanes in the 44th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
