In the 23rdth minute of the game Oswaldo Moran who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Roneros F.C.'s Ricardo Ceberiche was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zacarias Cabrero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alejandro Espina in the 26th minute of play. In the 30th minute of the match Azul Y Plomo got a corner. Roneros F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. José Macías ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 32 played minutes Azul Y Plomo got a freekick which was hit by Chiriboga Torres. After recieving a nice pass, Roneros F.C.'s Cordero Aberasturi tried to score from far away in the 33rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Zacarias Cabrero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonard Lamczyk, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Roneros F.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cordero Aberasturi in the 37th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Alejandro Espina could shoot a difficult shot in the 40th minute, which Zacarias Cabrero however easily saved by the left post. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

With a little luck, Roneros F.C.'s Ricardo Ceberiche got control of the ball when José Macías tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Roneros F.C. booed when Azul Y Plomo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chiriboga Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 57th match minute, Azul Y Plomo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chiriboga Torres to maneuver through the defense. After 58 played minutes, Roneros F.C.'s Cordero Aberasturi shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Zacarias Cabrero came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Roneros F.C. reached it. A collision led to Azul Y Plomo getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Thomas Kostakos hit a great ball. 73 minutes into the match, Obregón Pardemanos notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Azul Y Plomo's Zacarias Cabrero. Zacarias Cabrero was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Azul Y Plomo's Zacarias Cabrero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Washington Piedrahita in the 77th minute of play. Obregón Pardemanos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zacarias Cabrero having to make a save. In the 88th minute Obregón Pardemanos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zacarias Cabrero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Obregón Pardemanos might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zacarias Cabrero. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. An unexpectedly hard shot by Obregón Pardemanos in the 91st minute of play forced Azul Y Plomo's goalkeeper Zacarias Cabrero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
