Playful River Otters's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geoff Pearson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Roger Morton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geoff Pearson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Playful River Otters's goalkeeper Andy Gale, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nathanial Matson might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Roger Morton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The tension between the Cold Crushers FC and the Playful River Otters players grew even worse after the yellow card. Shawn Lloyd hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Andy Gale was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Geoff Pearson in the 32nd minute of play forced Cold Crushers FC's goalkeeper Roger Morton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gerald Lyons fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andy Gale having to interfere. Andy Gale made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cory Dill in the 83rd minute. After 86 played minutes Cold Crushers FC got a freekick which was hit by Don Patel. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Cold Crushers FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
