The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Troy Landis fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Poulsbo FC's protests and gave Troy Landis a yellow card for diving instead. Troy Landis kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Hank Kimball's late challenge caught a Ashland City FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hank Kimball helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ashland City FC booed when Poulsbo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hank Kimball didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arnoldo Alford took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 8th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Odell Butcher. Poulsbo FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Odell Butcher took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thurman Henley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Odell Butcher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thurman Henley in the 13th minute of play. Jonah Witherspoon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adam Shearer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Poulsbo FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 26th minute, when Thurman Henley scored to the left of an out of position Odell Butcher, making the score, 1-0. 28 minutes into the game, Thurman Henley recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Odell Butcher. Thurman Henley showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. After a rather tough play, Poulsbo FC's Woody Buckley got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Odell Butcher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thurman Henley in the 33rd minute of play. Odell Butcher showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thurman Henley, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. In the 38th minute Thurman Henley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Odell Butcher saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Poulsbo FC's Troy Landis got a free kick in the 39th minute. A collision led to Poulsbo FC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Adam Shearer hit a great ball. In the 42nd minute of the match Arnoldo Alford sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Odell Butcher skillfully saved the ball. Odell Butcher showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thurman Henley in the 44th minute of the match. When Thurman Henley came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Ashland City FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thurman Henley couldn't finish the play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Thurman Henley made a kick off. Hank Kimball could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Jacob Hamm made a huge save. Arnoldo Alford took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 60th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Odell Butcher. Poulsbo FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Thurman Henley ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Odell Butcher was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thurman Henley in the 68th minute of play forced Poulsbo FC's goalkeeper Odell Butcher to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Odell Butcher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thurman Henley in the 70th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Thurman Henley managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ashland City FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Thurman Henley was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Odell Butcher breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 78th minute Thurman Henley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Odell Butcher saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thurman Henley in the 82nd minute of play forced Poulsbo FC's goalkeeper Odell Butcher to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ashland City FC's goalkeeper Jacob Hamm, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 90 minutes into the game, Monte Emerson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ashland City FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Poulsbo FC the free kick. A hard shot by Ulysses English from long distance, 92 minutes into the match, got Jacob Hamm's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Ashland City FC had played much better football throughout.
