After a rather tough play, Royse City's Lucas Navarro got a free kick in the 35th minute. St. James FC's Clint Blount couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 35th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Royse City. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daryl Swanson in the 38th minute of play forced Royse City's goalkeeper Alfonzo Nava to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfonzo Nava took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clint Blount, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alfonzo Nava showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clint Blount in the 45th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Clint Blount got free with Alfonzo Nava in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kerry Dickey received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Alfonzo Nava came out and tried to block the shot, but Kerry Dickey slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 66th minute. Clint Blount could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Alfonzo Nava made a huge save. In the 75th minute, Emmanuel Sears hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kerry Dickey in the 77th minute of play forced Royse City's goalkeeper Alfonzo Nava to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lucas Keene during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 77 played minutes Royse City got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Keene. Gerard Solomon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The crowd rose to their feet as Kerry Dickey kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alfonzo Nava. That made the score 1-5 in the 86 minute of play. Kerry Dickey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched St. James FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
