But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thomas Stroud couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Ossian AFC getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Damien Coats hit a great ball. When the match clock showed 8 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Roger Burrell sped through Ossian AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Douglass Meyer. Ward Walls received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Tanner Leslie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thomas Stroud sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 22nd minute Roger Burrell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Douglass Meyer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thomas Stroud could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Douglass Meyer made a huge save. Ossian AFC's Douglass Meyer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roger Burrell in the 28th minute of play. Douglass Meyer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roger Burrell in the 30th minute of the match. Thomas Stroud could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Douglass Meyer made a huge save. After having played for 34 minutes, Roger Burrell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oriental Dragon FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roger Burrell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thomas Stroud made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 36thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Douglass Meyer would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Thomas Stroud sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roger Burrell in the 39th minute of play forced Ossian AFC's goalkeeper Douglass Meyer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Douglass Meyer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roger Burrell, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Oriental Dragon FC's Thomas Stroud got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Darin Mims to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Henry Lyon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Douglass Meyer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roger Burrell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Douglass Meyer came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Oriental Dragon FC's Roger Burrell. But to his dismay, Roger Burrell quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Oriental Dragon FC's goalkeeper Tanner Leslie, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ossian AFC's Darin Cardona shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 78th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Tanner Leslie but with some difficulty. In the 81st minute, Damien Coats hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thomas Stroud received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Douglass Meyer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Douglass Meyer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roger Burrell in the 87th minute of the match. Roger Burrell blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Douglass Meyer having to make a save. In the 91st minute, Daniel Hammer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 94 played minutes Oriental Dragon FC got a freekick which was hit by Marco Connell. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Oriental Dragon FC had played much better football throughout.
