In the 9th minute, Brad Wilkinson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Vern Cardoso. The goal made the score 1-0. Caleb Goldsmith sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Antoine Caudill made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caleb Goldsmith in the 17th minute of play. 19 minutes into the game, Foster City's Caleb Goldsmith nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Antoine Caudill made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brad Wilkinson in the 22nd minute of play forced Foster City's goalkeeper Vern Cardoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ed McLeod had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Caleb Goldsmith sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Caleb Goldsmith fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antoine Caudill having to interfere. Ed McLeod fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antoine Caudill having to interfere. Antoine Caudill made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caleb Goldsmith in the 39th minute of play. After having played for 41 minutes, C.J. Johnston managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guin's supporters crossed their fingers, but C.J. Johnston was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Foster City's Brice Carey got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ed McLeod fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antoine Caudill having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Brad Wilkinson to strike the kick off in the second half. If Ed McLeod had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. C.J. Johnston sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute Brad Wilkinson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vern Cardoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Antoine Caudill showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caleb Goldsmith, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. C.J. Johnston sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Caleb Goldsmith fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antoine Caudill having to interfere. In the 79th minute, Guin's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Caleb Goldsmith fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Tim Kiser came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Guin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tim Kiser couldn't finish the play. After 93 minutes of play, Guin's C.J. Johnston made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vern Cardoso was left in no man's land by his defense there! For all the effort they put into the match, the Foster City players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Guin.
