The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Matthew Vigil showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 8 minutes into the match, DeMarcus Cook had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Matthew Vigil. C.A. Román Riquelme's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that DeMarcus Cook was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in The Blue Hares's zone, Reuben Quintero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stevie Long came out of the goal and Reuben Quintero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Malcolm McGraths short, quick shot in the 23rdth minute got Stevie Long to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Stevie Long made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Malcolm McGrath in the 29th minute of play. Stevie Long made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Wade Hendrickson sent off a good shot on target. When C.A. Román Riquelme's Malcolm McGrath in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Malcolm McGrath made a kick off. When Reuben Quintero came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the C.A. Román Riquelme fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reuben Quintero couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Malcolm McGrath in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stevie Long prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Stevie Long took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reuben Quintero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 63 minutes into the match, C.A. Román Riquelme's Malcolm McGrath sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stevie Long narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 64th match minute, C.A. Román Riquelme was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wade Hendrickson to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, The Blue Hares's Matthew Vigil threw himself towards the right post 66 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from DeMarcus Cook, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, C.A. Román Riquelme's Wade Hendrickson got a free kick in the 69th minute. Thaddeus Avery who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 72ndth minute tested the skills of Matthew Vigil when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 77th minute, Malcolm McGrath ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Stevie Long was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Malcolm McGrath in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stevie Long prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 86th minute Malcolm McGrath shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stevie Long saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eduardo Cardwell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Malcolm McGrath had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. There was no doubt that C.A. Román Riquelme were the better team. C.A. Román Riquelme's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
