The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Victory Lakes FC's zone, Marlin Woodall stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stefan Lozano came out of the goal and Marlin Woodall tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. King Easley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Guilherme Lage tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Victory Lakes FC's Stefan Lozano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Victory Lakes FC from getting a goal against them. In the 19th minute, San Diego Minas's Marlin Woodall ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Stefan Lozano. Stefan Lozano yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. In the 24th match minute, Victory Lakes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tyron Redmond to maneuver through the defense. After 24 played minutes, San Diego Minas's Stevie German shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Stefan Lozano came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in San Diego Minas reached it. Warren Starnes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Stefan Lozano having to make a save. In the 28th minute, Tomas Alonzo made a precise shot to the right of Guilherme Lage. San Diego Minas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Stefan Lozano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marlin Woodall in the 36th minute of play. Jayson Stephenson charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jayson Stephenson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 38th minute of the match, Marlin Woodall tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Stefan Lozano saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 39th minute, Warren Starnes made a precise shot to the right of Stefan Lozano. Victory Lakes FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marlin Woodall in the 46th minute of play forced Victory Lakes FC's goalkeeper Stefan Lozano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th minute, Tyron Redmond hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The wind increased when Marlin Woodall made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, San Diego Minas's Marlin Woodall sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stefan Lozano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 54thth minute of the game Marlin Woodall who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Victory Lakes FC's Stefan Lozano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. San Diego Minas's Warren Starnes got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Alonzo in the 61st minute of play forced San Diego Minas's goalkeeper Guilherme Lage to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guilherme Lage came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Victory Lakes FC's Tomas Alonzo. But to his dismay, Tomas Alonzo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. After 64 minutes of play, San Diego Minas's Warren Starnes made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Stefan Lozano was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 70th minute, Marlin Woodall ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Stefan Lozano was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Warren Starnes in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stefan Lozano saved Victory Lakes FC from getting behind. In the 74th match minute, Victory Lakes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tyron Redmond to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Warren Starnes managed to get in a good position for a shot. San Diego Minas's supporters rose to their feet, but Warren Starnes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stefan Lozano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marlin Woodall fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stefan Lozano having to interfere. If Warren Starnes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th minute, Marlin Woodall left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The San Diego Minas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-2. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Victory Lakes FC's goalkeeper Stefan Lozano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. San Diego Minas's Warren Starnes got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. San Diego Minas's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
